Over the next few weeks my husband and I will be picking up our backpacks and heading to Vietnam! We both love Vietnamese food and want to learn more about it and the culture but one of the main reasons for the trip is to visit the Hmong people in Northern Vietnam to learn about their textiles. The Hmong people have a long history of decorating their clothing with indigo using the batik resist process which obviously is right up my alley. We're also hoping to learn more about the weaving and embroidery that is common in their textiles.
So, unfortunately, I won't be in the studio for a few weeks but I will ship out orders as soon as I return on June 13. The good news is that I am hoping to come back with piles of inspiration and maybe a few new skills to put to work over the summer.
